JULIA | Co-Founder
What does your position entail?
What does it not!! Creating floral recipes, buying + designing for all our fabulous events, dreaming up the next new wonderful project/event/sustainable improvement/online arrangement/reel, etc etc and seeing them come to fruition (although in true aquarius form I have sooooo many ideas and not soooo much time so prioritizing is also important :)) Also supporting the team in their ideas is one of my favorite parts of the job. Then there's other business money things and such ;)
What is your favorite task at Rococo?
Shopping for gardening jobs. I've literally cried from happiness at the flower nursery.
What is your go to coffee order?
Large iced coffee splash of whole milk
What was your first job?
Unofficially - (attempting to) sell old items from my house at the end of my driveway. Officially - Katonah Art Center camp counselor for toddlers.
What's something on your bucket list for 2025?
Keep training up Grizzly so her recall is on point and so we can hike with her off-leash!
What's a quirk everyone on the team everyone knows you for?
I’ll space out and then comment on a story or question 5 minutes later.
What's your favorite flower + why?
There's nothing better than a field of dahlias in the summer.
CLAUDIA | Co-Founder
What does your position entail?
The florist part of me gets to have fun with flowers (as well all the hard work that comes with it!) and the business owner part of me does a little bit of everything... EVERYTHING!
What is your favorite task at Rococo?
Honestly, taking out the trash. Trash day is my time to shine.
What is your go to coffee order?
A single shot latte with whole milk from Tatte. I am the unofficial, unsponsored, no-one-ever-asked spokeswoman for Tatte.
What was your first job?
I was a self titled "sandwich artist," but basically I just worked at a deli. .
What's something on your bucket list for 2025?
I would love to go to a Boiler Room set this year! Or something more practical like swimming underwater without holding my nose.
What's a quirk everyone on the team everyone knows you for?
I HATE clutter, so I throw everything away, even important things sometimes. It's very annoying, I'm sorry :( ......but seriously, take it home or it's going in the trash.
What's your favorite flower + why?
Currently having a love affair with Nerine. Especially the blush one. It lasts so long, the flowers are wispy without feeling - actually, just Google it
SOPHIE | Event Manager + Designer
What does your position entail?
Shamelessly self-titled as “Julia + Claudia’s right hand woman”, I design event proposals, work with stunning florals, run around town with the boss ladies and meet all you beautiful people.
What is your favorite task at Rococo?
Meditating to The Bald and the Beautiful podcast while I craft up some funky florals.
What is your go to coffee order?
Iced oat milk latte with hazelnut. Preferably from Render in the South End.
What was your first job?
Hostess for Houston's very own Harold's in the Heights (R.I.P.) Having servers in their 30s yell at you (a 14 year old) for giving them the "wrong section" is a very formative and necessary experience in a young woman's life.
What's something on your bucket list for 2025?
Being able to do a pull-up would be cool. Dream big.
What's a quirk everyone on the team everyone knows you for?
Creating and verbalizing sound effects for any movement I make.
What's your favorite flower + why?
If another man on Hinge asks me this question I will turn - violent -, but for y'all I'll say allium because she's fun yet sturdy, like me!
MYKIE | Project manager + Designer
What does your position entail?
Other than designing breathtaking and perfect arrangements and bouquets, I bounce around managing shop inventory, ordering for events, shopping for plants, and making sure both shop and studio run smoothly.
What is your favorite task at Rococo?
I really love plant shopping. I get to see all of the beautiful varieties in one place and curate the perfect new gang of green babies to thrive in our customers’ homes.
What is your go to coffee order?
Vanilla or maple latte with oat.
What was your first job?
I was a babysitter for years as a teen, but my first “real” job was at True Value hardware store.
What's something on your bucket list for 2025?
I really want to go to Monster Jam. If you don’t know what that is, please look it up- you will not be disappointed.
What's a quirk everyone on the team everyone knows you for?
I am known to move quickly with major purpose and immediately forget what I was doing once I stop moving. I also love basement dwelling :).
What's your favorite flower + why?
I’m obsessed with Chocolate Cosmos. They are floaty, deep red, bouncy lil cuties and they smell like CHOCOLATE! What else could you want in a flower?!
KATIE | Shop Manager
What does your position entail?
I make sure that the day moves smoothly, and that our customers leave with something beautiful!
What is your favorite task at Rococo?
Mopping the tile floors after a busy week with a lavender-scented cleaner
What is your go to coffee order?
Can you see if they have hot chocolate? Thanks!
What was your first job?
Lemonade stand advertiser as a toddler, quickly moving up to lemonade stand attendee and manager a few summers later.
What's something on your bucket list for 2025?
Move to a bigger apartment with my partner that allows us to get new plants!
What's a quirk everyone on the team everyone knows you for?
Getting too excited about tv (and matching red/black outfits with Liz)
What's your favorite flower + why?
Peonies, especially the ones at the top of my parents' driveway. I have a tattoo on each leg of a peony and intend to plant some when I have the garden space.
KATIE | Shop + Studio Assistant
What does your position entail?
I’m an all-round assistant!! Whether it’s being in the shop or the studio, I’m everywhere I’m (almost) so Juliaaa.
What is your favorite task at Rococo?
Making pick of the day arrangements, they challenge me to think bigger! And I like writing everyone’s cards, it’s like I’m a little messenger.
What is your go to coffee order?
Oat latte with whatever fun flavor the coffee shop has.
What was your first job?
Packing takeout orders at a family owned Chinese American restaurant.
What's something on your bucket list for 2025?
Hitting everything on my vision board!! Eating good food and traveling with friends. Being able to lift heavy things like my coworkers without struggling!!
What's a quirk everyone on the team everyone knows you for?
Taking all day to drink said iced coffee, asking you if you ate lunch, and acid reflux burps.
What's your favorite flower + why?
Anthuriums and Orchids. They come in so many colors/sizes and last forever!!
EMMA | Collaborations + Partnerships
What does your position entail?
Call me the ~assistant to the stars. I support the shop on weekends and moonlight as project manager for local artist collaborations. This includes workshops for our Artisan Series, the Vintage Market in May and more.
What is your favorite task at Rococo?
Pruning the plants, especially an overgrown succulent. If I see a plant that needs pruning, it's biologically impossible for me to walk away.
What is your go to coffee order?
This changes as often as my handwriting -- today, a cortado but tomorrow could be an iced chai with a double shot of espresso. Vibes change daily.
What was your first job?
In 8th grade I freelanced (lol) as an English Language Arts tutor.
What's something on your bucket list for 2025?
Buying a lay down seat to Tokyo using ONLY credit card points.
What's a quirk everyone on the team everyone knows you for?
My daily green smoothies that include 1 head of romaine per serving.
What's your favorite flower + why?
I need to plant my own Smokebush so I can gaze at the fluffy plumes all summer long. If I see it out in the wild, I will have to steal a few flowers for myself.
